Do you want the “hard work” more than you want the result? How about the pain more than the pleasure? If you desperately desire that shiny new car, you need to desperately desire the hard work it takes to get that car. Humans are built to push the easy button, to “conserve energy”, take the…

Language
They say actions speak louder than words. This is true, but words are still important. In fact they’re crucial. In this hyper sensitive world driven by social media and political correctness it is hard to ignore the impact that words have.
On the flip side, language can be used as a tool for positive impact. It can be used to uplift and encourage, to inspire, mentor or train. We can use language to show other how much we care for them or to effect change amongst a demographic or a nation. We can sing it, be poetic or release our aggression. Language is your friend, your ally. Make it a tool that you wield to make the great impact on this planet that positively affects the lives of everyone who crosses your path.
With language you can either build or destroy. Use it wisely.

Outside of the Lines
Coloring inside of the lines is easy. There are rules and boundaries to follow. Most likely everyone else around you is coloring inside the lines therefore it becomes easy to copy and to follow.
Coloring outside of the lines requires a different perspective. It’s a bold, artistic choice. It goes against the grain and pushes the level of comfortability for the artist and the viewer. It evokes emotion and opinion.
The biggest challenge of coloring outside the lines is how far to go. How far are you going outside of the lines?

2020 Note to Self
Remember what worked for you last year and do more of that. Continue to shed that which works against you. Increase the value that you add to the world. Meet fear with massive action. Win the day early. Give 10x more than you take. Health = Wealth Be present and enjoy the moment. Outdo yourself.

Energy
You are only able to produce so much energy in a given day. If you were to focus that energy on one single task you would make more progress on that task then if you focused your energy on ten tasks. This is why Steve Jobs wore the same thing each day as it limited…

Better Than Average
Many moons ago my Father passed me a tip on how to be a better salesman (it may have originated from Jim Rohn). The concept is simple but powerful. It goes like this… If you want to be better than average, then you must work on developing aspects of yourself (and your business) that are…

Self-Discipline, Enhanced Existence
I was recently researching intermittent fasting and veganism and I stumbled across an article about Dr. Nūn Sava-Siva Amen-Ra who apparently eats one meal a day. While this is insanely impressive, what stuck with me most throughout this interview was a quote about self discipline. He said, “self discipline is the the surest path to…

Non-Verbal Excellence
True “excellence” is found in all the non-verbals. Does Rolls Royce need to tell you about their cars? Not really. All you need to do is get behind the wheel and you’ll know who they are. If you were never able to speak with a client or customer, would you still be able to show…

Being There
Sometimes what your fiends, colleagues, clients, partners, employees, family, (et.al) really need is for you to “be there”. In many cases they need this more than all of the sage advice and wisdom it is that you and I have to offer. Being there means showing up, being an active listener and serving as a…

Evolve
I recently attended a classic hip-hop event that just had it’s 25 year anniversary. When I used to attend this event two decades ago it was fresh and exciting. The culture was alive, the art was vibrant, the dance was progressive and the music spoke to me and my peers on a deep emotional level….
